Are Christians Just
Mean Hypocrites?
Let’s be honest: sometimes Christians can be the worst.
Hypocritical. Judgmental. Unkind.
I’d be willing to bet that you have met someone who claims to “follow Jesus” yet treats people in a way that makes you want nothing to do with Jesus. But here’s the truth: when someone plays Beethoven badly, you don’t blame Beethoven—you blame the player. The same should go for Christianity. When Christians act cruel, hypocritical, or unkind, they’re not showing you who Jesus is—they’re showing you how far they’ve drifted from Him. So if you have met a Christian who has played the song wrong… I get it. But try to remember the problem isn’t the Composer. It’s the performance.
When we fail to reflect Jesus well,
it doesn’t mean He’s not real or trustworthy—it means we’re imperfect and still learning.
If you’ve been hurt by Christians, I’m truly sorry. But don’t let someone else’s mistakes make you miss out on the beautiful real thing.
